G-OUAV passes 50 hours of operation

Since G-OUAV started regular operations in April 2021, the aircraft has flown over 50 hours completing a variety of tasks.

For the majority of this time the aircraft was used for dual instruction either for students working towards their National Private Pilot’s License or for those working towards tailwheel conversions.

More recently, fully qualified students at the University have flown other students studying towards degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics.

With plans for a new instructor to join the group this is set to increase as we move into the new year.

When I started studying at the University of Southampton I never thought it would give me the opportunity to fly a light aircraft on a regular basis. The group’s staff members are incredibly encouraging to use the aircraft as much as possible which has been by far the best part of my degree.
